Celebrating our fantastic female colleagues ahead of International Women's Day

This International Women’s Day, we're celebrating and highlighting the fantastic women we have working in our business. From bus drivers and tram drivers to engineers, right the way through to our Managing Director, we’re proud of our diverse workforce and the women who keep our business ticking along 365 days a year.

"I just want to say how proud I am today, International Women's Day, to celebrate the women that we have working here for us. The title of International Women's Day this year, 2025, is accelerate and that's what we've certainly done, over the last ten years that I've been here, is accelerate the number of women that we've got, the different and diverse roles that we're doing, and we're really keen to keep that  going, keep the  momentum going. Well done ladies. Proud to have you on board".

At Blackpool Transport we’ve worked hard over the last 10 years to ensure we are as inclusive as possible, and that we create an environment where women, and all our colleagues, are able to thrive. 

Many of the women in supervisory or leadership roles at Blackpool Transport started their careers as bus drivers, tram drivers or conductors, and we’re super proud to be able to support them in their career progression.
