Overnight tram track works on Heathfield Road

Essential track maintenance will be taking place close to the Heathfield Road tram stop in Fleetwood next week, with tram services to and from Blackpool terminating at Thornton Gate on the evening of Tuesday, October 13.

A free replacement bus service will be in operation from 9.30 pm until shortly before 1.00 am to allow customers to complete their journeys, and a full tram service is expected to resume from start of service on Wednesday, October 14.

Steve Staley, Tramway Director, explained: “We’re doing all we can to minimise any inconvenience during these essential works on Heathfield Road, including providing a free shuttle bus once the last tram leaves Thornton Gate at 9.17 pm, and Fleetwood Ferry at 9.40 pm.

“Carrying out these works overnight means they can be completed quickly and efficiently, reducing disruption for residents and local businesses.

“Every effort will be made to keep any disturbance to a minimum, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while the work is carried out.”
