Family tram ticket offer earns industry recognition for Blackpool Transport

A popular family travel offer that encourages people to leave their cars at home has earned Blackpool Transport recognition from the wider light rail community.
First launched late last year as a seasonal deal to help residents and visitors make the most of Christmas events in Blackpool, the Festive Family Saver ticket has since evolved into the year-round £15 Family Saver Ticket.
The campaign to support the offer impressed judges at the Global Light Rail Awards last night (Wednesday, October 7), where it scooped a Highly Commended accolade in the Best Customer Initiative category.
Lea Harrison, Managing Director, commented: “The initial festive campaign proved a huge success, encouraging hundreds of families to take advantage of public transport over the Christmas holidays.
“More importantly, the Family Ticket continues to offer great value for customers, and we’re delighted that the initiative has been recognised by our peers in the global light rail community.”
We were also shortlisted in two other categories at the awards, which were presented during a high-profile event at Battersea Arts Centre in London. The operator’s sales team was among the frontrunners for the Team of the Year accolade while Duty Manager Bradley Jones was a contender for the light rail sector’s Rising Star award.
