Which bus services can be used to travel to Blackpool Aspire Academy?

In addtion, we are running an extra Service 6 bus journey each morning and afternoon, intended for use by school children only. This bus will be identified as X6 and children should aim to use this service where possible.

In the morning the X6 service will depart Mereside Tesco at 07:30, travelling via Blackpool Town Centre and arriving at Aspire at 08:20.

In the afternoon the X6 service will depart Aspire at 15:08, travelling via Blackpool Town Centre and arriving at Merside Tesco at 15:58.

Travel guidance 

Due to social distancing guidelines, many of our bus services have a reduced capacity. Some seats are unavailable and we have an advisory limit on the number of customers we can carry. 

So that we can safely carry all of our customers, you should:

  • Travel as early as possible to avoid the morning 'peak' and avoid taking the last journey in order to arrive at school on time. We're doing everything we can to provide extra capacity, but we cannot be responsible if a service is full and you will need to wait for the next service if this is the case.
  • All children over the age of 11 should wear a face covering on public transport unless they are exempt.
  • Explore different ways of travelling to or from school, such as walking or cycling. 
  • Where public transport is your only option for travel, please plan ahead, travel at times where services are likely to be quieter, and follow all guidelines for travelling by public transport.

Buying your tickets

We're encouraging all customers to buy tickets using contactless payments, or in advance, either on our website or using our mobile app.

Parents/Carers buying travel tickets for children can do so easily on our website and have the ticket sent directly to your child's smartphone. You can even set up a repeat subscription to save having to remember to buy a new ticket each week/month.

We do accept cash payments for single tickets on board if you need to use it, but please try and use the correct change.
