We’re excited to announce an update to our app that gives you Personalised Travel Alerts, a new feature designed to keep you in the know about the disruptions and changes that matter most to you – straight to your phone!
While disruptions are sometimes unavoidable due to roadworks, incidents, or bad weather, you no longer need to search for updates on our website or social media. Once you’ve opted in, you’ll receive timely and relevant information based on your favourite routes and stops, keeping your travels smooth and stress-free.
The new feature will be available in the latest version of the Blackpool Transport (version 75 or later) on both iOS and Android. Download here.

How It Works:
You’ll receive push notifications for:
Disruptions: Stop closures, route diversions, and service interruptions.
Network Changes: Permanent timetable adjustments, event service changes, or route updates.
Network Alerts: Major updates such as severe weather, ticketing issues, or system outages.
These notifications are tailored to you, ensuring you receive updates specific to your travel habits.
How to Get Started:
Update the App – Make sure you’re using version 75 or later of the Blackpool Transport app. This can be viewed in your Settings.
Opt-In for Alerts – Head to Settings → Notification Settings and enable Personalised Travel Alerts and Disruptions.
Select your Service – Head to the Timetables section, select your service and highlight the star in left hand corner. This will now appear in your favourites section.
Select your Stop – From your favourite timetable, select your stop and highlight the star in the left-hand corner OR you can open the Explore menu, locate your stop on the map (nearby stops will appear if location services are enabled), tap on the stop and tap the star icon next to the stop name. This will add the stop to your favourites.
You'll now stay informed about any changes to your travel! Push notifications will appear on your phone when you get an alert about your route or stop, giving you the option to click on it for further information.
While updates will continue to be available on our website and app, we will be slowly phasing out updating live to X (formerly Twitter). Opting in for Personalised Travel Alerts and Disruptions will make your journey smoother and more convenient.
