Changes to the National Fare Cap in 2025: What This Means for Our Customers.

1 month ago Fri 1st Nov 2024

On the 31st of December 2024, the government’s £2 single fare cap will end, replaced by a £3 cap fare across England. This adjustment reflects the increased costs within the transport industry, driven by inflation, which have risen significantly since the initial cap. Without government support, fare prices would have risen incrementally over the last two years to approximately £3.30, underscoring the impact of inflation on operating costs.

Since the start of the fare cap following the COVID-19 period, we have navigated substantial revenue losses while continuing to provide a far-reaching network and reliable services. Despite these challenges, we’re delighted to announce that we have frozen the price of your Saver Tickets in 2025. This freeze will support our regular customers, provide great value offers for our visitors and make frequent journeys as affordable as possible.

With the new £3 single fare cap, our all-day Ticket at £6.60 remains an excellent choice for those making multiple trips. Regular travellers can also maximise their savings with our 3-, 7- and 30-day passes, which offer unlimited travel for as little as £2.60 per day.

Stay tuned for detailed fare updates as we await further guidelines from the Department for Transport. We remain committed to providing accessible and reliable travel options for all our passengers in 2025 and beyond.
