Blackpool Transport Services Limited, the operator of tram and bus services on the Fylde Coast, has made two key board appointments.

Jamie Swift and Steve Staley have been promoted from within the business and will now serve as Executive Directors.

Together, they will strengthen operational representation on the board of an organisation that is wholly owned by Blackpool Council.

Jamie has worked for Blackpool Transport since January 2025, most recently in the role of Head of Commercial. Previously, he held senior positions at Edinburgh Trams and Tramlink Nottingham.

Meanwhile, Steve was appointed Tramway Operations and Safety Manager in June last year. Earlier in his career, he worked for Manchester Metrolink, Dubai Metro and Riyadh Metro.

On their promotion to Commercial Director and Tramway Director, respectively, Lea Harrison, Blackpool Transport Managing Director, commented: “Both Jamie and Steve have already helped to transform operational and commercial performance across our organisation.

“Bringing with them fresh ideas and a wealth of industry experience, their elevation to the board of directors will help them to continue this work at a more strategic level as we plan for further enhancements to transport services that tens of thousands of people rely on every day.”
