A successful campaign encouraging people to make the most of public transport when visiting Christmas events in Blackpool has earned the town’s tram operator a place on the shortlist for a high-profile industry award.
Blackpool Transport is also among the frontrunners in two other categories at the Global Light Rail Awards, which will be presented during a gala event in London.
While the Festival Family Saver ticket impressed judges for the Best Customer Initiative award, the operator’s sales team is on track for the Team of the Year accolade after boosting revenue and taking customer service to the next level.
Duty Manager Bradley Jones is in the running to be named the light rail sector’s Rising Star when the winners are announced at Battersea Arts Centre on October 7.
Lea Harrison, Blackpool Transport Managing Director, commented: “These annual awards are very highly regarded, and we’re delighted to be so well represented on the 2026 shortlists.
“This recognition from our peers in the light rail sector reflects all the hard work of the entire Blackpool team over the past twelve months as we strive to deliver the best possible service for customers and encourage more people to leave their car at home and take the tram instead.”
