Seasider buses set to prove a matchday winner for Blackpool fans

Football fans will soon be able to enjoy easier access to Bloomfield Road on match days as we announce our new partnership with Blackpool FC.
From September 12, when the Tangerines take the field against Bromley, supporters can avoid the 20-minute walk from the town centre by taking advantage of our new ‘Seasider Specials’.
The new service is expected to be a matchday winner for fans for the rest of the season, regardless of results on the pitch, and also offers great value for money.
Jamie Swift, Head of Commercial here at Blackpool Transport, explained: “The service will be subject to our usual fares, including our popular Duo and Family tickets, offering an affordable travel option for anyone who wants quick and convenient access to the Bloomfield Road stadium.
“This is particularly important for anyone who struggles to walk far, as the last stop is just a few minutes from the ground, and a welcome alternative to a long trek from the town centre for everyone on dark nights or during poor weather.”
The buses will run from every 15 minutes between Market Street and Rigby Road, for two hours before the kick-off and for an hour after the final whistle. In addition to running for league matches, the service will operate before and after some cup games, depending on expected crowds.
“We’re delighted to be working with the football club on this initiative, which also aims to reduce congestion around the stadium on matchdays while improving the local environment and demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve,” Jamie said.
