Last winter heritage tram trips set to be sell-outs
5 months ago

With just half a dozen trips planned before Blackpool’s heritage trams hibernate for the rest of the winter, anyone planning a nostalgic trip along the seafront early in the New Year should book now or risk missing out.
Since the heritage tours returned for October’s Lightpool Festival, they’ve proved a huge hit with both tourists and local residents, with many of the Friday and Saturday night trips sold out well in advance.
As a result, they’ve continued to run through November and December, with the last tours of the season planned for Saturday, January 3.
Jane Cole, Managing Director, explained: “The sight of the much-loved HMS Blackpool tram, and occasionally our popular ‘balloon’ double-decker, has brought a smile to the faces of young and old alike over the past couple of months.
“We’re really proud of all the hard work done by the Blackpool Transport team to bring them back into service, and although they will now be taking a short break, we’re already making plans for tours next year.”
Some places are still available for tours on January 2 and 3, with departures from the Pleasure Beach at 5.30 pm, 7.00 pm and 8.30pm.
Tickets for the trips are priced at £15 for adults and £10 for children and include unlimited travel on Blackpool Transport’s regular tram services on the same day as the booked trip. Further information, including details on how to book, can be found here.
