Who can travel for free?
Children aged 5 to 15 can travel for free on all Blackpool Transport bus services as part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings scheme. Children under the age of 5 already travel free on our bus services.

Do children need a pass or ticket?
Children aged 5 to 15 will be issued with a free ticket when they board the bus. Simply ask the driver for a free child ticket.

Which bus services are included?
The offer is valid on all Blackpool Transport bus services.

Is the offer valid on the tram?
No, as this is a government scheme it is valid on bus services only.

Can children travel at any time?
Yes, there are no time restrictions. Children can travel all day, every day while the scheme is running.

Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?
Children should travel in accordance with our Conditions of Carriage. Younger children may need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

How long is the scheme running for?
The scheme runs from 1 August to 31 August.

Can visitors use the scheme?
Yes. The offer is available to all children aged 5 to 15, whether they are local residents or visiting Blackpool.

Can I use the scheme on more than one bus journey in a day?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of free journeys a child can make during the promotional period.

What proof of age or eligibility is accepted?
Most children will not be asked to provide proof of age. However, if a child is lucky enough to look 16 or older, the driver may ask for proof of age.
Accepted proof includes a passport or birth certificate. We appreciate that carrying original documents isn't always practical, so a clear photograph of an accepted document will also be accepted.
If your child is asked to provide proof of age, please be respectful to our drivers.
