Why are we launching the ‘Lytham Line Day Return’ Ticket?
We are launching our new Lytham Line Day Return ticket in response to customer feedback.
This new ticket offers great value for customers who use our Lytham Line services to make return journeys. It works out at just £2.75 a trip cross 2 zones and £2.50 per trip when travelling within 1 zone.
How does the return ticket work?
The Lytham Line return ticket is a day return, meaning it is valid for two journeys. The return journey must be used on the same day of purchase.
The ticket can only be bought and used on our 11, 11A and 11B services for the initial journey. The return trip can be used on any Blackpool Transport bus service along that same corridor.
When you purchase a Lytham Line Day Return ticket, the driver will give you a paper ticket which you must then present on your return journey, simply scan the QR code on the ticket machine as you board the bus.
How come you can use the Lytham Line Return on other services on the return trip?
Even though these tickets can only be bought on our Lytham Line Services, customers can use the return ticket on any other Blackpool Transport bus heading back to their original destination. For example, if you buy a return on the 11 from Lytham Road to Blackpool you have the option to catch the 5, 5A or 5B on the return trip.
When are we launching the ‘Lytham Line Return’ Ticket?
The Lytham Line return ticket has now been launched; we introduced it as an offer for Lytham festival 2025 but are now extending this as a trial ticket.
Where can customers buy the Lytham Line Return from?
These tickets are currently only available to buy from your driver onboard any Lytham Line service.
Why is this ticket only being launched as a trial?
From customer feedback regarding our current ticket offer and data on customers travel habits we know that many of our customers make regular return journeys. Based on this we believe launching return tickets as part of our ticket offering would provide great value to many of our customers. Launching this as a trial allows us to review this ticket after a 3-month period, we will do this by assessing the level of usage as well as customer feedback.
How come this is only being launched on the Lytham Line group?
This is being trialled on the Lytham Lines, we originally launched the return ticket offer for Lytham Festival but then due to popularity are extending this as a trial. Trialling the concept of return tickets within our ticket offering works well within these routes as they are grouped together so easily recognisable. Depending on how the trial goes we may roll out return tickets to other services in the future.
Will the Lytham Line Return ticket be available as a child ticket too?
No, this is only an adult product, the child day ticket at £3.20 offers comparable value to the adult day return price.
