Blackpool Air Show - changes to bus and tram services

Today 10:30 - 9th Aug 2026

Due to the Airshow on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August and the full closure of the Promenade, there will be changes to bus and tram services. We expect the town to be very busy, so please allow extra time to make your journey.

Tramway:
On both Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 7pm the Tramway will be running a split service, this means that trams will be operating between Starr Gate - Manchester Square every 12 minutes and North Station - Fisherman's Walk every 15 minutes. Extra trams will also run between North Station - Little Bispham.
Before and after the split services trams will run to the normal timetable.
During this time Tower and Central Pier (both directions) will not be served.
North Station will be used but only for services heading towards Fleetwood.

Bus Network:
The promenade will be closed between 10:30am and 7pm meaning services 1, 2, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 10 and 11 will be on diversion.

Services 1 and 2:
Services towards Fleetwood will use the normal route to Chapel Street, before diverting via Central Drive, Albert Road, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road and Talbot Square, before returning to the Promenade and continuing the normal route from there.
Services towards St Annes and the Zoo will use the normal route to North Pier before diverting via Talbot Square, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue, Central Drive and Chapel Street, before returning to the Promenade and continuing the normal route from there.

Services 5 and 5A:
Services towards Blackpool Town Centre will use the normal route to Grasmere road before diverting via Condor Grove, Park Road, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Talbot Square, Market Street, Church Street and Corporation Street, continuing normal route from there.

Services towards Halfway House and the Enterprise Zone will use the normal route to Market Street before diverting via Church Street, Corporation Street, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue and Central Drive, continuing normal route from there.

Service 6:
Services towards Grange Park will use the normal route to Condor Grove before diverting via Park Road, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Talbot Square, Market Street, Church Street and Corporation Street, continuing normal route from there.

Services towards Mereside Tesco will use the normal route to Market Street before diverting via Church Street, Corporation Street, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue, left onto Central Drive, continuing normal route from there.

Service 7:
Services towards Cleveleys will use the normal route to Grasmere Road before diverting via Condor Grove, Park Road, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Talbot Square, Market Street, Church Street and Corporation Street, continuing normal route from there.

Services towards Market Street will use the normal route to Church Street before diverting via Corporation Street, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue, and Central Drive, continuing normal route from there.

Service 10:
Services towards Blackpool will use the normal route to Condor Square before diverting via to Condor Grove, Park Road, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Talbot Square, Market Street, Church Street and Corporation Street.

Services towards Lytham will depart from Market Street then divert using Church Street, Corporation Street, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue and Central Drive, continuing normal route from there.

Service 11:
Services towards Blackpool will use the normal route to Tyldesley Road (missing out the Manchester Square stop) before diverting via Rigby Road, Central Drive, Grasmere Road, Condor Grove, Church Street, St Johns Square, Abingdon Street, Talbot Road, Talbot Square, Market Street.

Services towards Lytham will leave Market Street then divert via Church Street, Corporation Street, Clifton Street, St Johns Square, Caunce Street, Grosvenor Street, Park Road, Reeds Avenue, Central Drive, Rigby Road and Tyldesley Road, continuing normal route from there.

Services not listed will use their normal routes and stops.

St Annes Road West Night Closures (20:00 - 05:00) - Service 7, 10 & 11

3rd - 10th Aug 2026

Due to overnight roadworks on St Annes Road West, Services 7, 10 and 11 will be on diversion each night between Monday 3 August and Monday 10 August.

Lytham Lines 10

Towards Blackpool - Normal route to Lord Derby. Buses will then continue along Clifton Drive, turn right onto St Leonards Road West, then left onto St Davids Road North before rejoining the normal route.

Towards Lytham - Normal route to St Davids Road North. Buses will then turn right onto St Leonards Road West, continue to Clifton Drive, and rejoin the normal route after St Annes Square.

Lytham Lines 11

Towards Blackpool - Normal route to St Patrick's Road South. Buses will then divert via St Annes Road East, St Davids Road South, St Thomas Road and Clifton Drive, rejoining the normal route from the Lord Derby.

Towards Lytham - Normal route through St Annes Square. Buses will then divert via St Thomas Road, St Davids Road South and St Annes Road East before rejoining the normal route.

Cleveleys Connection 7 (St Annes terminating journeys only)

After terminating at St Annes Square (outside M&S), buses will continue via East Bank Road, South Promenade and Hornby Road, before rejoining the normal route from the Lord Derby.

Closure of Kilnhouse Lane, St Annes

15th Jun 2026 onwards

Due to the closure of Kilnhouse Road in St Annes, Lytham Lines service 10 is diverting in both directions:
Towards Lytham - Queensway - Blackpool Old Road - Kilnhouse Lane - Derwent Road.
Towards Blackpool - Derwent Road - Kilnhouse Lane - Blackpool Road North - Queensway.
