Our top tips to beat the price changes

  1. Download the BPL app to guarantee the best value fares.

Don’t forget that the new app prices for all 24 hour and 7-day tickets either match or beat the current onboard prices for these ticket types, this means that by switching to the app you may not be impacted by the change in fare prices.

  1. Use our new Fare Finder to see which ticket is best for you.

Our Fare Finder feature in this article will recommend the best value ticket based on your individual travel habits. This tool allows you to explore different ticket options available to you and make an informed decision on which ticket type and payment option works best for you.

  1. Subscribe and save.

By subscribing to your saver ticket, you will get a discounted price. Please be aware that this is not a contract, and you can cancel your subscription at any time. This means that you are guaranteed the best value ticket however still have the security that if your circumstances change or you no longer require that ticket type you can simply cancel your subscription.

FAQ’s

Why are you increasing your fares?

Although our current prices are changing on Sunday 16th January 2022, many of our fares are still lower than they were in August 2019 (prior to the Coronavirus pandemic). Our customers can benefit from a smaller price increase and in some cases, no increase at all, when they use the BPL app for their travel.

We hope that our customers understand that as we continue to recover and grow from the impact that Covid 19 has had on our business we need to increase some of our fares, however, most of these new fares are still relatively lower than they were before the pandemic hit.

Our customers are still guaranteed great value when they travel with us and are empowered to find the best value tickets for their individual travel needs by using our Fare Finder.

The ticket I currently buy is going to increase- how is this justified?

Although our current prices are increasing in January 2022, many of our fares are still lower than they were in August 2019 (prior to the Coronavirus pandemic).

We are still committed to ensuring our customers get the best value tickets for their individual travel habits, this is why we have created a simple Fare Finder so you can easily see your recommended tickets and discover the ticket type which works best for you.

Please also remember to download our BPL App to guarantee the best value fares, all current on board 24 hour and 7-day tickets have been price matched (with some child and young tickets being even cheaper) on the BPL app. This means that many of our customers can beat the fare increase by buying their 24 hour or 7-day tickets on the app from the 16th of January.

Why are the app prices lower?

When customers use the BPL app it means that our drivers and conductors do not need to provide tickets or put saver tickets into wallets, it speeds up boarding times and also means that our customers have all of their timetable and journey information on their phone, meaning it is better for customers too. This is why we encourage use of our app and with less resources used than with paper tickets, we can provide better value fares.

How can I still ensure I’m getting the best value when travelling with Blackpool Transport?

Although our fare prices are changing, we are still committed to ensuring our customers get the best value travel. With our great range of saver tickets and lowest prices guaranteed on the BPL app we are confident that there is a ticket suitable for each customer’s individual travel habits and needs. Find your best value ticket and different fare options available to you by using our new Fare Finder.
