via Common Edge and St Annes

  • Blackpool Air Show and Run the Lights Diversions

    13th - 14th Aug 2022

    Some of our bus services will be diverting in the town centre during the Airshow and Run the Lights. Services will be diverting from 1 pm until the end of service on Saturday 13th and 1 pm until 6 pm on Sunday 14th.

    The tramway will remain open as normal however the event is expected to be very busy and we expect delays whilst we clear the tram tracks in the town centre for the trams to run through.

    Service 1 will only operate between Fleetwood and Blackpool Town Centre during the Airshow and Run The Lights. It can be caught from Queen Street (Central Library) during the diversions

    Services 5, 6, 7, 11 and 17 will also divert during the events, however, can still be caught from their normal locations in Blackpool Town Centre. The services will divert away from the promenade as below.

    Services will divert from Central Drive using Park Road, Church Street, St John's Square, Abingdon Street and Talbot Road in both directions. The services will not serve New Bonny Street or Promenade stops.

    Service 11 will divert from Lytham Road onto Rigby Road and then use the same diversion as above. The service will not be stopping at Central Pier, or the Promenade stops during the event. The trams can be used as an alternative.

Our buses should leave main stops no later than 5 minutes past the scheduled time, and no earlier than 1 minute before. Drivers use main stops to keep running on time, but stops in between these are only estimates and drivers are not asked to wait at these stops. We do our best to run our buses ​on​ time, but please allow plenty of time to catch the bus and any connections as not everything is within our control.
