Recruitment Open Day - Tuesday 9th August
On Tuesday 9th August we are hosting a recruitment open day at our Starr Gate Depot from 10am until 3pm.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to come along, have a look around, and find out about the job opportunities we have here at Blackpool Transport. We’ll have our world class light rail trams and modern buses available for you to take a look at, as well as the chance to have a chat to members of our team who are doing the job right now. They'll be able to help you understand our roles in more detail and find out what it's really like to work for an award-winning transport company.
We have a range of part-time and full-time roles available including customer service, tram conductors, tram drivers, bus drivers, and more.
The best part? Anyone who attends is GUARANTEED a job interview on the day. We’ll ask a bit about you and understand which roles you might enjoy most and if you’re still interested, we’ll get you underway with completing a full application.
We have opportunities for immediate starts as bus drivers and tram conductors, but we also have a range of opportunities that might be coming up in the future. For us, it’s about attracting the right people to help us deliver an amazing experience for our customers.

The event is taking place at our Starr Gate Tram depot on Squires Gate Lane (FY8 2SU) between 10am – 3pm on Tuesday 9th August.

If you’re arriving by car you won’t be able to park on-site, but there is some residential parking in the nearby area. We’d suggest making the most of our bus and tram service and taking a trip on public transport!
If you love giving excellent customer service, then we have the perfect role for you! Blackpool Transport are the biggest transport company in the area. We are at the heart of our community offering services to get customer from A to B. As a PCV driver you will drive in a safe and efficient manner, employing such skills and knowledge as may be required. You will promote the Company’s image and reputation and safeguard the Company’s revenue. You must comply with all legislative requirements of the role and adhere to company policies and procedures. Don’t worry if you have never driven a bus before as we have an excellent Training program to help you become a bus driver.
Tram Driver / Conductor
A Tram Driver consistently delivers the highest standards of driving, providing a safe, secure and comfortable travel experience for all customers whilst showing due care and consideration for all other road users.
Whilst undertaking conductor duties, you'll promote the company’s image and reputation by providing up-to-date information about services and facilities to customers. You will protect the company’s revenue through prompt and efficient fare collection and ticket issuing.
Mechanics and Electricians
The mechanic will carry out repairs and maintenance to the varied fleet of modern single and double-deck service buses as well as the company support vehicles. This is done efficiently, safely and to a high standard, ensuring we meet all of our legal obligations. This team take great pride in the work that they do and are collectively responsible for the safe running of our bus network.
The role of a Tram Technician is to assess required repairs and replacements on trams and complete the required work to a high standard. To ensure the availability of vehicles in safe operating condition and provide written documentation of repairs to meet all company and legal requirements. This role requires shift working.
Customer Experience Officer
As a Customer Experience Officer you will champion good customer service at every opportunity to deliver a world class customer experience.
You will respond to a variety of customer contact. This includes, queries, compliments, suggestions and complaints, which are delivered to us by one of our many communication channels.
You will be required to support, demonstrate and enable our customers to use our digital platforms, you will also advise the best ticket options available for their needs, encouraging digital payments.
