£2 Fare Cap Extended until December 2024

The Department for Transport (DFT) has announced the extension of the £2 fare cap, allowing customers to enjoy even more affordable bus travel.  

With the support of the scheme, we're able to extend the offering of £2 single bus fares over the next year. The fare cap has been locked in until 31st December 2024 giving you plenty of time to explore Blackpool and its surrounding areas. 

As the colder months approach, we’ve handpicked some places worth visiting. And the best part? It’ll only cost you £2 to get there! So, bundle up and let’s explore: 

  1. Blackpool Illuminations  

Blackpool Illuminations are a must! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you can’t come to Blackpool without seeing the light display that dazzles the promenade. A magical atmosphere that’s perfect for an evening stroll, and if it gets a little too cold, you can always grab some hot fresh doughnuts to keep your hands warm. 

  1. Affinity Outlet 

Fancy a day of shopping? Affinity Outlet, in Fleetwood, has got you covered. It offers a wide selection of stores with great deals and discounts. Even better? When you hop on board with us and ask for a ‘Bus2Save’ ticket, you get 10% off in selected stores! After a successful shopping spree, you can relax and recharge and grab yourself a coffee.  

  1. Lytham Green 

Lytham Green offers a picturesque winter walk that spans just over a mile. Located just a stone's throw away from the town, you can enjoy the beauty of nature and then grab a bite to eat, with an array of cafes and restaurants available. Or if you want the full day out, you can even get some shopping done, with a great selection of shops to choose from! 

  1. Stanley Park 

Stanley Park has something for everyone. You can take a leisurely stroll through the gardens, wander around the lake, or let the kids hang out in the park, all while you grab a coffee. It’s the perfect afternoon out for a crisp Autumn Day! 

  1. Christmas by the Sea 

The festive event doesn’t kick off until November 17th, but we had to put it on the list! Soak up the festive fun with lights, decorations and joyful celebrations. You can stroll along the prom enjoying music and indulging on delicious food. Grab some Christmas gifts or have a go on the free-to-use skating ring. If you’re really feeling festive, hop on board a Mini Festive Tour with our Heritage Trams. There will be something for everyone. Open from 17th November till 1st January (excluding Christmas Day). It’s the perfect Christmas treat!
