Fleetwood
Following the refurbishment of Fleetwood Market, it is now fully back open!
Part of the £3.2 million investment has caused the Main Hall to be closed, but it has reopened from 7th February 2023. Please note that works will continue until October, 2023 but the market will be fully functional.
With over 250 stalls of food, clothing, tech and household items, the Market Hall is ready to welcome everyone back.
Why has the refurbishment taken place?
This exciting period of rejuvenation aims to improve and support the market’s future as a key attraction in Wyre.
£1 million of funding from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme has been secured to achieve a 78% reduction in carbon emissions by 2035. This includes installing renewable energy sources and removing fossil fuel gas heating.
£1.9 million is also being invested into repairs to reinstate the historic nineteenth century Market Hall features. This is partially funded by the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) grant sourced from central government via Historic England (HE).
The goal is to improve the appearance of the market and sustain the life of the building through enhancement works such as the main hall slate roof, windows and doors.
When is Fleetwood Market open?
The full Market Hall is open 9am – 4:30pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
