This Bank Holiday is an opportunity to get back out there and make family memories to last a lifetime. After a bank holiday of lockdowns last year, we think this year should be a week packed full of family fun and adventures- we all deserve it!

We’ve come up with an itinerary full of inspiration of how you can make the most of a week off with your family. Within the itinerary, there is something to suit every family and budget – feel free to explore as much as you want or choose the things which appeal to you the most.

Monday 14th February - Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside

No Blackpool adventure is complete without a traditional family day out by the seaside!

Why not start your week of adventures by taking in the sea air, taking ‘touristy’ pictures in front of the tower, and enjoying a good old fish and chips! Blackpool’s 3 piers have so much to explore including traditional seaside attractions and amusements!

Whilst you’re in central Blackpool why not add to the excitement and visit one of Blackpool’s famous attractions? Be one of the first families to experience the newly opened Peter Rabbit Explore and Play, explore the magical underwater world at Sealife or get the best views of the town from the top of the iconic Blackpool Tower.

Our service 1 and tram service means you can explore along the prom at your leisure. You can also use our service 5, 6, 7, 11 or 17 to access the central Promenade. Plan your journey.

Elephants in enclosure at Blackpool Zoo

Tuesday 15th February- Get back to nature

Stanley Park is the perfect place to wind down and get back to nature. Get wrapped up warm for the perfect morning making memories feeding the ducks, exploring the play area or even have a family crazy golf competition! Need warming up? Stanley Park Café is the perfect place to enjoy a hot chocolate or a bit of lunch.

Not done exploring yet? There is plenty more to explore including Blackpool Zoo (where you can get even close to nature) or the model village where you can marvel at the many hand-crafted models and figures that represent our world.

Catch our service 18 or 20 to the park or Zoo, or our 2, 2c, 5 or 20 to Layton/Victoria Hospital for a short walk south. Plan your trip to Stanley Park or Blackpool Zoo.

Wednesday 16th February-- It’s Show Time

Blackpool is known as the entertainment capital of the North and this bank holiday term there is plenty of exciting shows to keep you entertained. Showing at the Grand Theatre on Wednesday 16th, Milkshake Live is a fun and interactive way to entertain younger children for a few hours. There are two showings at 12:00pm and 3:30pm.

Plan your journey to The Grand Theatre using any of our town services.

If your kids are a bit old for singing monkeys and Noddy, the cinema is the perfect half term treat, who doesn’t love a good film and escaping from the hustle and bustle for a few hours! There are two cinemas easily accessible on our services- the Vue in Cleveleys or the Odeon on Rigby Road.

Get to the Vue

After a morning of entertainment why not visit one of Blackpool’s many coffee shops and unwind with a sweet treat- we highly recommend trying cake tin delights in Marton.
