Changes to school services 400, 401, 402, 403, 414

36 Days Ago 18th Jul

Some school bus services operate on a contract basis in a morning and afternoon. From September 2017 these contracts will come to an end and service 400, 401, 402, 403 and 414 will no longer operate.

To ensure school children can still arrive at school on time, we are making some small changes to our other services by adding some extra journeys in the morning and afternoon.

The following extra buses will be added from the start of the school term:

Service 3 AM:

07:56 from Bispham Hotel to Blackpool Town Centre. This bus will be a double decker bus and upon reaching Blackpool Town Centre (Abingdon Street), will change to a Service 5 and continue to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, via St Mary’s School (08:31 arrival).

07:43 from Mereside Tesco to Blackpool Town Centre. This bus will be a double decker and upon reaching Blackpool Town Centre (Abingdon Street), will change to a Service 5 and continue to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, via St Mary’s School (08:25 arrival).

Service 3 PM:

Two Service 5 double decker buses will depart St Mary’s School at 15:15 towards Blackpool Town Centre.

One Service 5 will terminate on Dickson Road (15:29), and change to a Service 3 towards Bispham Hotel (departing 15:30, arriving 15:45). The second Service 5 will terminate on Abingdon Street (15:29), and change to a Service 3 towards Mereside Tesco (departing 15:30, arriving 15:53).

Service 5 AM:

An additional Service 5 will run at 07:31 from Halfway House to Victoria Hospital. This bus will follow the usual Service 5 route and any pupils using this bus for St Mary’s School should alight on Grange Road.

We have tried to cover the busiest areas where the school buses previously operated and we believe there is a suitable alternative option for most students.
