Your New Fares and Introducing Daily Capping from September 2022

2 years ago Thu 8th Sep 2022

From Sunday 25 September there will be a change to our fares and ticket prices on both our buses and trams.

We want to continue bringing you excellent value travel but in the same way, you will see across the UK, our business costs are increasing substantially.

We too are affected by the rising costs of energy and utilities and the diesel we use in our buses is rising by an extra 50p per litre. That is a sizeable increase when we’re using 5,500 litres of fuel daily to keep you moving.

Not only this, we need to support our team. Our colleagues are receiving a deserved pay increase to help and protect them from the current cost of living crisis and the rise in utility costs.

We’ve tried very hard to continue providing you excellent value for money and have kept many fares lower than inflation. From Sunday 25 September, we’re also introducing daily fare capping so you can be confident you’re getting the best value for your single journeys.

Daily fare capping. Just Tap & Go!

Introducing daily fare capping means that when you pay by contactless onboard, we’ll cap your single fares so you never pay more than the price of a day ticket. No matter how many journeys you make in a single day!

All of your single fare journeys can also be linked to your account on the Blackpool Transport App so not only can you see where you have been, you can see what you’ve saved!

Take a closer look at daily capping and learn how to link it with your mobile app from 25 September here.
