Capital of Dance is the world’s first fringe festival dedicated to dance and movement. 2024 will see the pilot for the event held in Blackpool a perfect partner to the festivals ambitions and motivations in dance cultural identity. 

The new open-access arts festival positions Blackpool as the Capital of Dance, building on the rich cultural traditions of show biz within the community through live shows, street performances, workshops and social events to unite lovers of dance.

From ballroom elegance to contemporary groove the multi-venue, town-wide celebration will have something for everyone! The events will be spread across various Blackpool hotspots such as: 

  • The Comedy Carpet
  • Showtown Museum 
  • Blackpool Tower Ballroom
  • Funny Girls 
  • The Winter Gardens 
  • Viva Show Bar
