Friday 3 July from 1730 – 2130 Grand Prix Cycling Event

Central Promenade will be closed from 1730-2130hrs between Rigby Rd and Pleasant St. Buses will divert as follows :

Promenade Line 1 to Fleetwood - Normal route to Rigby Rd, then via Central Drive, Albert Rd, Regent Rd, Cookson St, Talbot Rd, Dickson Rd to Pleasant St and then normal route.

Promenade Line 1 to Pontins - Normal route to Pleasant St then via Dickson Rd, Springfield Rd, High St, Talbot Rd, Lark Hill St, Grosvenor St, Church St, turn left at Stanley Arms (Blue Room), Adelaide St, Coronation St, Reads Ave, Central Drive, Rigby Rd to Promenade and normal route.

Lines 5 and 14  Northbound - Normal route to Central Drive then via Albert Rd, Regent Rd, Cookson St, Talbot Rd, Market St, Corporation St, Talbot Rd and normal route.

Lines 5 and 14 Southbound - Normal route to Market St, then via Corporation St, Talbot Rd, Dickson Rd, Springfield Rd, Talbot Rd, Lark Hill St, Grosvenor St, Church St, turn left at Stanley Arms (Blue Room), Adelaide St, Coronation St and normal route.

Line 16 To Fleetwood From Market St via Corporation St, Talbot Rd, Dickson Rd, Springfield Rd, High St,  Lark Hill St, Grosvenor St, Church St, turn left at The Stanley Arms (Blue Room), Adelaide St, Coronation St, Reads Ave, Central Drive, Rigby Rd, Lytham Rd and normal route.

Line 16 From Fleetwood - Normal route to Lytham Rd then via Tyldesley Rd, Central Drive,  Albert Rd, Regent Rd, Cookson St, Talbot Rd to Market St.

Line 20 to Marton Mere - Normal route to the Promenade at the Manchester then via Rigby Rd, Central Drive, Albert Rd, Coronation St to normal route

Line 20 from Marton Mere - Nomral route to Church St then via Cookson St, Talbot Rd,  Market St, Corporation St, Talbot Rd, Dickson Rd, Springfield Rd, Larkhill St, Grosvenor St, Church St, turn left at Stanley Arms (Blue Room), Adelaide St, Coronation St and normal route.

Mereside Gala Saturday 4 July

Langdale Road is closed due to the Procession from 1130hrs to 1300hrs approx. Buses will divert as follows:

Line 3 is to serve the stop on Clifton Road just before Deepdale Road. Buses will then continue ahead to the roundabout and turn right towards Yeadon Way.  Round the roundabout and return to Clifton Road.

Line 4 is to operate the current diversion route to Clifton Rd but will not go via Langdale Rd. Buses will continue along Clifton Road to the roundabout and turn right toward Yeadon Way. Round the roundabout, right turn onto Clifton Road returning to Cherry Tree Road North then right on to Preston New Road to Paddock Drive and then normal route

Line 4A Shuttle is unaffected

Line 6 will not enter Langdale Road, but continue straight ahead to Tesco returning the same route

Line 16 to Fleetwood- Normal route to Tesco then direct to Preston New Road it will not go via Langdale Road.

Line 16 from Fleetwood via Preston New Road directly to Tesco, will not go via Kentmere Drive.

Sunday 5 July Grand Prix Cycle Event

The South Promenade will be closed between The Star Hotel and Starr Gate from 0800-1400 hours. Promenade Line 1 and City Sightseeing Line 20 will be diverted via Clifton Drive in both directions.


Town Centre & Mereside ( Please click on the links below to view a more detailed notice for each line)
Due to extensive road closures in the Town Centre, Line 2,3,4,6 and 15 buses will be diverted in Blackpool town centre. Also Lines 3, 4 and 15 will temporarily terminate half a mile from Tesco.

Because of the road works, buses cannot serve Abingdon Street or the Winter Gardens. Instead Lines 2, 3, 4 and 15 will call at a temporary stop outside Sacred Heart church on Talbot Road until 1800 hours; and after 1800 hours Line 2,3,4,15 will use stop M1 on Market Street (at the back of the Town Hall). All these buses will also use the stop outside the former Woolworths on Talbot Road, as will Line 6.

As a result of the roadworks, to maintain reliability we are having to alter routes in other places as well.

• Line 2 will not serve Blackpool North Station
• Line 3 will not operate to Tesco but will terminate in Mereside Estate
• Line 3 buses will be diverted for 4 weeks from 2nd March due to road works and one-way restrictions on Vicarage Lane
• Line 4 will not operate to Tesco but will terminate in Mereside Estate and will operate a large loop serving Stanley School, Kipling Drive, Paddock Drive and Kentmere Drive in the inbound direction only
• We will run a FREE shuttle service, Line 4A, every 20 minutes between 0830 and 1540 Mondays to Saturdays (only) to connect areas otherwise unserved to Tesco.
• Buses will depart from Wordsworth Avenue at 0820 and every 20 minutes until 1540. 
• Buses will depart Tesco at 0830 and every 20 minutes until 1550.
• Connections between Line 4A and Line 4 are not guaranteed – passengers travelling from Tesco to Blackpool are recommended to use frequent Line 6 and to change buses at Langdale Road.
• Line 15 will terminate at Marton Mere Holiday Park, not Tesco

In addition Line 11 loop in St Annes alters from Monday to no longer serve Pleasure Island. Last lline 11 bus from Lytham is reinstated on Friday and Saturday nights from next weekend.

Many cross-town buses will serve the same stops in the town centre in both directions – please check the destination blind of the bus you are boarding.
