Due to the withdrawal of Lancashire County Council funding for the tendered sections of some of our routes, we are making changes to our services from 3rd April. Many of the changes are positive and we are now able to connect areas which previously didn’t have a direct service. Some changes are a simple timetable alteration to reflect our summer timetable, and others are to improve the reliability and punctuality of our services.
Come along to our 'Times Are Changing' afternoon on Thursday 17th March between 2pm - 5pm to find out how these changes may affect you. We'll be located in St John's Square opposite the Winter Gardens; right in the heart of Blackpool Town Centre. You won't miss us - we'll have a bus parked up with plenty of team members and information to hand out.
We hope that residents in some of the affected areas will be confident that we have made every effort to maintain our services where possible. Highlights include the continuation of our 2c service from Knott End to Blackpool every half-an-hour Monday – Saturday. We have also added additional evening journeys on service 5 to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, as well as extending services 9, 10 & 17 to Blackpool Victoria Hospital which provides direct links for Cleveleys & St Annes.
Whilst services 12 & 13 are being removed as a consequence of Lancashire County Council’s subsidy cuts, we have covered most of these areas with alternative routes. Our service 14 to Peel Park was also subsidised, however we will continue to operate 4 morning & 4 evening journeys to and from Peel Park to enable workers to continue to use our service; with usual service terminating at Mereside Tesco. We have also made improvements to the 15/16 routes, which now serves Staining along with Whitegate Drive Health Centre.
