Blackpool Transport has won Vision of the Year at this year’s Global Light Rail Awards held at the Honourable Artillery Company London on the 5th October 2016.
The award, previously won by KeolisAmey Docklands (KAD) and Docklands Light Railway Limited (DLRL), celebrates the efforts of Blackpool Transport in building a better future for Blackpool. The judges recognised Blackpool Transport for the changes they’ve implemented especially in training their staff on disability awareness and caring about the people they serve each and every day.
Jane Cole, Managing Director for Blackpool Transport said: “We’re so pleased to have won this Highly Commended Award for Vision of the Year. We’ve been working hard to put the customer at the forefront of everything we do and have built a new team with the sole purpose of delivering a positive customer experience. It’s the work of the whole team alongside the customer experience team that makes me proud to say we’re now seeing the results of the hard work and dedication being put in to make Blackpool a better place to be”.
Cllr Christine Wright, Chairman of the Blackpool Transport Services Board, said: “I am delighted that BTS has been recognised by the industry experts. It shows that what we are doing in Blackpool, to improve services for residents and visitors, is on the right track and compares favourably with other operators across the country.
“I hope that regular users of our services can see the benefit of the changes that have been made and tell others about their positive experience.”Click here to go back
